Well, they are NOT the same. Here’s why.

The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org;

1. WordPress.com

• Does not allow advertisements
• Is more for blogging, than a business website
• Very little customization (brand, logo, etc.)
• Self-hosted
• Difficult moving over to wordpress.org in case blog became popular

2. WordPress.org

• Requires more knowledge for setup and usability
• Able to customize to brand
• Have to pay for separate web hosting
