If you like super casual, picnic table-style, industrial, hipster atmosphere — go to Rackhouse at Bierstadt Lagerhaus in RINO! This is one of my favorites as they are really good about accommodating the highly conscious food-restricted individual.
Although, this time around, I panicked. Deep breaths! It was a scavenger hunt searching for food to eat from the menu after I discovered the kitchen was out of salmon that day. After questions ‘a-plenty’ later, (favorite combination of words by the heartthrob Channing Tatum in Magic Mike XXL), I learned the turkey is roasted in-house. Sold! The Rackhouse Club it was!
Mind you, I did strip down this sandwich pretty well ahead of time. It was one naked sandwich by the time I was done with it. Phew! It was a good thing I was not on a date. And I did touch! It sure did get messy dissecting the food. Yeah, the sandwich didn’t look anything like the picture you see here.
For those of you on a strict diet, I’d recommend getting the turkey as it’s roasted in-house as mentioned, its safe to eat not like deli meat. A good rule of thumb, the fresher the meat, the lower histamine. Even though the bun was gluten-free, throw that bun off to the side. Finding a gluten-free kitchen is challenging, as in most cases the grill likely contains gluten. Unless it was freshly baked that day, the bread could contain some histamines too. And the gluten-free flours used could be another factor worth ignoring as well. And those fries—probably not an smart option as not Yukon Golds — a requirement for SIBO. There is mayo, so if you’re vegan or if eggs are not tolerated well, then I’d ask for them to remove from the bun (if are eating the bun!) This sandwich did come with bacon and egg too. For those who are on the lighter side of things, the bun could be tolerated or ¼ of an avocado.
All-in-all, I’m always impressed when the kitchen brings out people’s orders that are actually pretty healthy.
Stay tuned for more blog posts to come that’ll give smiles a-plenty.
